Billingham arrived at Gresty Road for the 1st Round match having already battled through five preliminary rounds.
The picture below comes from the Synthonia archives showing their line up for the match but not only do they spell Alexandra incorrectly they also manage to get the year wrong as it was in fact 1948 that the game was played.
